The TurboBoss’ was introduced to photography more than 15 years ago. With a small compact camera, nature and life were discovered in a new way. The ever-present curiosity and desire to express oneself in a visual way, have always kept the interest of photography close to heart. With the dedication to metal music, it became natural to start taking photos of bands.

BAND PHOTOS & PORTRAITS

The first impression of your band is not always the music itself, but how you look. Your image is revealed in how you choose to portrait your band. If the band photos are not cool, well, sadly it will affect the overall impression of the band’s attitude and graveness. Don’t let it happen to you!

Let’s introduce your band to fans, labels and organizers with photos where the essence of your music is present. The surroundings, outfits and props are all crucial to set the right atmosphere.

STILL LIFE

Create content with visual value by photo art such as still life photography, to add another dimension to your image and legacy. Either carefully arranged or props shot on location for the actual photo shoot.

These additional photos serve the same kind of purpose as graphics or illustrations, but certainly brings a different sphere since they’re “real”. Add them to your feed on digital platforms or print in physical formats such as booklets and inserts. What these photos might consist of course depends on what fits with the project’s identity and style.

LANDSCAPE

As mentioned in the introduction, it all began with exploring the world of photography in nature. Nature is powerful and if it fits with your musical vibe and visual side, it could be the element that makes the biggest difference. The enchantment of a full moon reflecting in a lake, a forest draped in mist, mountains stretching towards the sky, a barren landscape…

DOCUMENTARY / LIVE

This is something you might not have thought about. To document your project with behind the scene material will without doubt have a huge personal value for all participants. Looking back at those photos when your band recorded that album in that studio, or those photos from that special gig with exclusive stage props and all preparations behind it… Such sharing can provide a closer relationship between bands and fans, making them feel part of the band’s journey.

Turborock values outdoor photography on carefully selected locations, using
the existing (natural) light, rather than studios and flashes. We shoot with a system camera with access to different lenses.
